3 vragen aan Behrouz Boochani, writer in residence

We verwelkomen Behrouz Boochani als onze bovenbuurman op het Spui. De Koerdisch-Iraanse schrijver is een week writer in residence op uitnodiging van het Nederlands Letterenfonds. Hij beantwoordde op ons verzoek drie vragen, over een geitje, Amir Ahmadi Arian en Italo Calvino.

What was the first book you ever read?

I read the first book in age 8. It was about a baby goat that lost her mother and found her later. That goat still is with me, her name was Sizi. Before this book I heard many stories from my mother. She knew many ancient stories in Kurdish language.

What do you plan to read next?

I'm planing to read a book written by the Iranian writer Amir Ahmadi Arian. He is a friend and a well known Iranian writer who wrote a book in English about Tehran and Evin prison. The name of book is Then the Fish Swallowed Him.

What book would you like to have written yourself?

I would had liked to write a book written by Italo Calvino If on a winter's night a traveler. The book takes us to the world of reading and writing.
